The Rock is pretty good so far, I'm working on pictures. We helped Ray move this weekend, so we didn't get much done around the apartment.

Not sure if I would want to drive through Wyoming *shudder* makes Brookmeadow seem pretty upper crust.

Oh, you know. Brookmeadow misses your, ghetto that we are. Actually when I really want to see the ghetto, I go to Wyoming.

How is the Rock? I can't wait to see pictures.

I think the downsizing is/was necessary. I'll get over it :)

It was definately worth the effort...as far as I'm concerned anyway, but then again I'm not the one who had to lift it!

What's going on in your neck of the woods? How's the old Brookmeadow?

Charter just hooked up our new cable box with DVR and all the movie channels, very cool.

How do you like the new TV? Is it worth the errort it took they guys to haul it up?

Sorry to hear about the downsizing.

The second bedroom become more storage and "junk room" than anything else...before the move, I actually cleaned out more than half of the room's contents.

So far, the man cave is working out pretty good...James and his buddies can hang out and I can still sit on the couch and watch tv or read a book, it's a win-win!

I remember the apartment at Brookmeadow. In the three years you were here, did you ever even unpack the second bedroom?

How is the man cave working out?

The living room actually turned out pretty good, I took your suggestion and moved the bookcases to the other side of the room.

I think this is the quickest I have ever unpacked! Not much is left...a few random boxes, wall art, and some nifty lights for the balcony (which is awesome, by the way).

Just cleaned the carpet in the kitchen (whose idea was it to put carpet in the kitchen, anyway?), which tells you how exciting my day has been.

Back in town and will be getting back in the kitchen tonite, so look for new recipes soon!

Also, it's time to brainstorm new ideas for July...any suggestions?

This week's postings will be a bit slim, as I am out-of-town from this evening until Thursday afternoon, but then I shall be back with a gusto to wrap up the 30 days.

Not sure if I will continue this into July...but with all that is going on in the news about food crisis, it would be a good time to learn how to live lean(er).

Any suggestions?

Glad you like the new project! The traffic on my website is way up, over 70 hits on some days. It's also been an interesting little experiment to see just how little food I can purchase (and how many freebies I can score throughout the day...because those don't count of course).

Let me know if you have any good tips or recipes.

Hi Jen

I love the summer special, Vegonomics. It's lots of fun to read and some really great information.

Thanks for the tip...I've never made zucchini bread before, or banana bread for that matter. I might need to invest in a brean pan, unless you can make them in brownie pans? Like the 9x9 baking dishes...I do have a recipe somewhere for zucchini brownies.

Although, it's been just too darn hot to turn on the oven!

Zucchini ($1.29): At $0.99 a pound, I really couldn’t go wrong with zucchini. What usually gets me is that zucchini can spoil quickly, so this was purchased and used within 2 days to avoid waste.

Hi Jen,

You know you can always make Zucchini bread with slighty old zucchini. It's similar to Banana Bread and pretty Yummy.

All of these reports about rising food prices may be true, but it is starting to sound like unnecessary panic and mass hysteria. The behavior of the media is border lining on fear mongering.

But, instead of just griping, I am going to be part of the solution and not the problem. For June, I am introducing a 30-day project called Veganomics. This crash course will include recipes that fall into one or more of the following categories:

Economically Friendly
Ecologically Responsible
Excellently Healthy
